Project Haven extends a compassionate invitation to all seeking healing through art.

Our sessions offer a transformative journey, embracing individuals from all walks of life. Through creative journaling, visual arts, counseling, and prayer, we facilitate a sacred exchange where trauma is transmuted into beauty, guiding participants toward a renewed sense of self.

We recognize the power of Christian principles in surrendering pain to God, yet participation is open to non-Christians. The artworks and experiences crafted within Project Haven serve as potent tools of empowerment and reminders of the path to emotional liberation.

Join us in this nurturing journey of healing and renewal.

Project Haven Japan

We facilitated the first series of Project Haven in Oita-Japan with our missionary partners, YWAM-Oita. Our partnership began during COVID and they are reaching the community of Oita with the love of God through art. The team has been a phenomenal success and is now conducting their Project Haven art-trauma sessions independently.

When God told me in 2019 that he wanted me to stay in Japan and not return home, I asked him what his purposes were for my staying. That's when he put in my heart to work with him to bring the gospel through creative arts. I didn't know how he was going to do that but that was up to him. Now fast-forward 2.5 years later...and here we are. He's doing it!”

How we started and Project Haven Chicago

Project Haven was born after the creation of the painting HAVEN 4231 (the image to the far right).  Leslye had the impression that just like the young African American and Latinx students she had been serving in youth / workforce development for the past 20 years, there were many others plagued by trauma. And God wanted to reach them through art.

Now it's time to share Project Haven in Chicago. The Project Haven Art Trauma sessions provides all participants healing through art. Each art session involves a caring and creative opportunity to exchange trauma ashes for God's beauty. And although it is faith- based, participants are not required to be of the Christian faith to participate.

Schedule time with Leslye to train your organization or have her facilitate sessions.
